What is Around the Table & why should I participate?
By hosting an Around the Table mealtime conversation on Saturday, September 23rd, 2017, you’ll be participating in an exciting, city-wide initiative to explore the many ways in which we can make Long Beach even better through the power of personal connection and collaboration. We believe all Long Beach residents and organizations share a collective desire to come together and figure out how we can use our individual talents, strengths, and resources to make Long Beach a safer, healthier, and more connected city. As we come together Around the Table to listen and learn from each other’s stories and ideas, we have the power to make a tangible difference in our neighborhoods and our city. That’s what Around the Table is all about.
Why Around the Table?
These days, the connections we make with people are more commonplace via social media than face to face. We believe Around the Table is the place where on one day, every Long Beach resident and organization will have a voice, share their story face to face, and together come up with new ideas and possibilities around how we can make Long Beach even better. What is Long Beach Community Foundation?
Long Beach Community Foundation: LBCF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, public organization with nearly $30 million in assets and over 140 charitable funds. It was established in 1996 to make strategic grants to nonprofits, and assist individual donors with their philanthropic goals today and through planned giving. Fees charged to manage funds at the Foundation are invested directly back into the community. We Love Long Beach, a volunteer-led 501(c)3 nonprofit is a catalyst of citywide neighborliness. Our desire is to create bonds of trust and care between neighbors, house by house, block by block throughout the city of Long Beach.
